Winners of the “Start the Game” Programme Announced - Nine Projects Transforming Football in Local Communities

The UAF Foundation and Vbet Foundation have announced the winners of the nationwide “Start the Game”programme.

The initiative aims to support football projects that bring communities together, help children and young people, promote inclusion, and support the adaptation of veterans - even amid the challenges of wartime.

A total of 171 applications were submitted from across Ukraine. From these, the jury selected nine outstanding projects that already demonstrate that football is more than just a game - it is a powerful tool for change.

Football as a Force for Change

Each winning project demonstrates a unique approach to using football as a tool for positive transformation. From supporting children with special needs to rehabilitating veterans, from rebuilding damaged infrastructure to preserving the memory of heroes - the “Start the Game” programme spans all areas of social life.

The programme stands as a powerful example of how sport can unite, heal, and inspire even in the most difficult times. The nine selected projects represent not only financial support for specific initiatives but also an investment in Ukraine’s future - where football serves as a bridge between people, communities, and generations.
