The annual meeting of UEFA Social and Environmental Sustainability Managers took place in Switzerland, bringing together representatives of all UEFA member national associations.
The Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) was represented at the event by Olena Balbek, Director of Strategic Development and Sustainability at UAF and CEO of the UAF Foundation, and Liliia Kovtun, Head of the UAF Social Projects Department.
During the meeting, participants discussed key directions for the development of social and environmental sustainability in football and reviewed UEFA’s updates on future strategic initiatives. The main topics included environmental responsibility, gender equality, combating racism, addressing various forms of addiction - including digital addiction - and developing programs for children and youth.
The Ukrainian delegation presented ongoing initiatives implemented in Ukraine, including football-based rehabilitation camps for children and the amputee football development project “League of the Mighty.”
Throughout the current year, the association plans to actively implement initiatives within UEFA’s social and environmental sustainability framework, engaging partners and strengthening cooperation with other European national associations.
