Ternopil hosted a joint event bringing together two Ukrainian Association of Football projects: the nationwide girls’ tournament, the Development Cup, and the Talantikos children’s football festival.
The Development Cup is a nationwide tournament for girls aged 9–11, held in three stages. This season, it has reached a record 100 participating teams, the highest number in the tournament’s history for this age group.
The winners of the regional qualifying rounds come together to continue their pursuit of the trophy, gain valuable experience and take another step towards their football dreams. For many participants, this is their first experience competing at a nationwide level — and their first opportunity to test themselves against teams from other regions of Ukraine.

Alongside the tournament, Talantikos was in full swing - a modern football ecosystem that brings together sport, education, technology and entertainment.
The project is designed to give children more than just the chance to play football. It helps them discover their talents through unconventional activities, connect with peers and gain their first experience of taking part in large-scale football events.

A range of themed activity stations was available for the players, including tennisball, football darts, square football, and 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 matches. Each activity was designed to suit the young footballers’ age and skill level.
It is also worth highlighting that 40 girls from the UEFA Playmakers project joined Talantikos in Ternopil. The programme aims to introduce girls to football through play and teamwork.
The joint initiative continues its journey across Ukraine, with the next stops coming up soon:
