On 20 January 2026, the Kick-off Meeting of the ERAFA project — "Empowering Recovery: Adaptive Football for All" — was held online, marking the official launch of the project funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Sport programme. Representatives of all consortium member organisations participated in the meeting.
The project is coordinated by the UAF Foundation in partnership with the European Amputee Football Federation (EAFF), Shakhtar Social, Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after Ivan Bobersky, and Dragones de Lavapiés (Spain).
The project aims to develop amputee football as an effective tool for physical and psychosocial recovery of people with limb amputations, strengthen the capacity of sports organisations and professionals, foster international cooperation, and promote inclusive sports practices in Ukraine and Europe.
During the meeting, partners discussed the project's objectives and expected results, agreed on the format for cooperation and coordination, identified priority steps for launching planned activities, and addressed communication and dissemination requirements under the Erasmus+ programme.

Over the next two years, the partners will work together to develop amputee football as a tool for social integration and physical rehabilitation, train coaches and specialists, share European best practices, and expand opportunities for people with limb amputations through sport.
