
As part of the international project ERAFA – Empowering Recovery: Adaptive Football for All, a training programme for coaches, referees, and amputee football players was held in the Zakarpattia region of Ukraine.
Over several days, participants combined theoretical sessions with practical on-field training, learning the fundamentals of game technique and tactics, athlete preparation, and the specific aspects of refereeing in amputee football.

The training was implemented in cooperation with the national amputee football development programme “League of the Strong” and formed part of the preparatory phase for the rollout of ERAFA’s educational and international activities.
The ERAFA project is implemented by the UAF Foundation in partnership with the European Amputee Football Federation (Poland), Shakhtar Social, Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after Ivan Boberskyi, and Dragones de Lavapiés.
The project is co-funded by the European Union and aims to develop inclusive sports practices, strengthen international cooperation, and raise awareness of amputee football across Europe and Ukraine.
For the UAF Foundation and its partners, ERAFA represents another important step in the systematic development of amputee football and in expanding Ukraine’s presence in European Union sports programmes.
