As part of the collaboration between the Ukrainian Association of Football and the UAF Foundation with European football associations, aimed at developing young footballers and supporting Ukrainian children, this summer organized vacations were arranged for children from frontline areas of Ukraine. Young footballers from Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Dnipro visited Italy and Germany, as well as enjoyed summer camps in the Carpathians.
Forty Ukrainian children from frontline zones spent over a week at a training and wellness camp at the base of the Italian National Team, training with some of the best Italian coaches. In their free time, they explored Florence, had fun in a ropes park, and tried out a new sport – rafting.
Another 20 boys and 20 girls from Ukraine, who play football, trained and rested at the Uwe Seeler Football Park in Malente, Germany. The children played football, went on excursions, and participated in individual games. Their days were filled with various activities, and most importantly, it provided a distraction from the horrors of war they experience daily.
All this was made possible through cooperation with the Italian Football Federation and the German Football Association.
By the end of the summer, children from different regions of Ukraine will attend five more summer camp sessions in the Zakarpattia region. Their leisure will be filled with numerous activities: sports training, trips to water parks, excursions, outdoor games, and even watching football matches together.
The vacation for all the children is entirely free, thanks to the support of Monobank, which financed all the expenses for organizing summer camps for children in Ukraine.
