The Ukrainian Association of Football, in collaboration with the UAF Foundation, has launched the "The Game Goes On" informational campaign to share the stories of people who have dedicated their lives to football.
These stories include playing on the field under shelling, rebuilding sports facilities, the strength and will to continue training after a stadium is destroyed, and the resilience of Ukrainian footballers who, despite everything, prove that the game goes on.
Yuriy Vernydub returned to Ukraine after the onset of the full-scale invasion, joined the ranks of defenders, and fought near Kryvorizhzhia. He then took over as a coach of a local club and led them to a bronze medal. The game continues despite dozens of alerts and shellings affecting Kryvyi Rih.
Maria, a mother of a fallen soldier, used the compensation received from the state to build a sports facility for the children in her village and a sports club for the rehabilitation of soldiers. Despite the loss of her son, she wants the game to continue for young Ukrainians.
Lukian, a boy from Vasylkiv, plays football at the "Lokomotiv" club. One morning, a rocket hit his training stadium. Football helps him cope with the horrors of war, and the future footballer believes that the game continues.
